What affects the load?
Glazing, room orientation, insulation, ceiling height, occupancy, electrical equipment, neighbouring spaces and how the room is used can all change the amount of heating or cooling required.
- Room dimensions and ceiling height
- Window area and orientation
- Insulation and construction
- Number of people using the room
- Computers and other heat-producing equipment
- How warm or cool you want the room to feel
Why bigger is not automatically better
Choosing an oversized unit simply for extra capacity is not a substitute for proper selection. Comfort, airflow, control and system behaviour all matter as well as peak output.
What to send for a quotation
A postcode, room measurements, a few photos and a description of the problem are usually more useful than trying to choose a kW size yourself before speaking to an installer.
